Good location, good breakfast, friendly staff. The carpets in the hallways could use some cleaning. Our room had wood floor and it had been swept, but the floor needed to be mopped, there was dried up fluids on floor. It was nice to stay at a hotel that does not shutoff the air conditioning at night and tells you to open the windows.

I loved this hotel for so many reasons, the first being the friendliness of the staff that greets you! I had a very humorous conversation about American fast food with the young lady that checked me in. She was so excited about steak and shake and I was trying to convince her that our fast food is the absolute worst and very unhealthy! Though my room wasn’t ready when I arrived, it was ready much earlier than the standard check in time and I was very happy about that. Secondly, the level of cleanliness of my room was spectacular, not a speck of dirt or dust, and I busted out one of my wipes and I found nothing! Housekeeping is on point and they all deserve a raise. The blinds put you in complete darkness when they close, and you fall into a deep restful sleep in the comfortable yet cozy bed. The bathroom is nicely spaced, though I despise those half glass shower doors, I always wet up the floor, those are designed with the assumption that everyone stands completely under the shower to wash their hair, us black people don’t do that every day so we tend to need a bit of room away from the water stream! The coffee, tea, and electric kettle are the perfect touch. I am always upset when I can’t have a hot cup of something before bed, and here I had options for both as well as wine glasses and a bottle opener in case I brought a little something up to the room! Breakfast is expensive 27 euro to be exact, so if you can when you make a reservation, book the room with the breakfast included or head over to one of the restaurants close. I recommend Rosi Kaffehouse. The buffet is huge, and unless you have children (who eat free) I don’t see anyone eating that much breakfast, but I will mind my business! You can get an idea of what many breakfast tables in Europe look like because this is truly an International buffet! So if you decide to indulge, try something new, you just might enjoy it! Be mindful of the coffee machine, it sprays hot milk when running low, stay safe! If you need a plug because you didn’t bring one or forgot they are different in Europe, you can rent one from the hotel. You will need to pay a cash deposit first, the money will be refunded once you return the plug before checkout. Please don't give the staff a hard time, they did not create the policy, they are simply following directions! Tourist Tip~Make sure you grab the tour and map information in the lobby, they also have a full list of restaurants of all types that are walking distance from the hotel. You can have food from Afghanistan, Germany, Italy and Japan all in one block, so try something new! Money Saving Tip~Call the hotel directly to get the best price, what is shown online is not always correct and you can’t always book the sale which I learned first hand. The price is better because they are not paying booking fees from sites like Expedia and Booking, but you do what works best for you. I prefer to give the hotel the business. Check out is a breeze, especially if you don’t have any additional charges on your bill, simply drop your keys in the box located in the lobby and keep it moving. Me and my husband have just returned from a two night stay here and honestly cannot fault it. 5 minutes walk from the nearest station (there's an undercover route which we only discovered on the last trip to the station!) 15minute walk to the city centre, all on the flat, no hills in munich unlike the UK 🤣. We arrived at 11am and room wasn't ready until 3pm but there was a room to leave your bags. We went off and came back in the pm and the room was ready. Room was lovely and clean with one large queen sized bed, the only slight criticism we have was that the pillows were flat and lifeless, we had to fold them over to get any support. Plenty of towels and flannels which was a nice touch. The windows opened which was a nice touch too as we had lovely weather. The TV only had disney junior in English but as we walked 15 miles a day this wasn't an issue for us! There was an option to cast your phone to the TV but we couldn't get this to work. We had a basic tea tray, no fridge. Plenty of storage for clothes etc. Breakfast was one of the best we've had anywhere, they literally had everything you could want. Toast, cereal, fresh fruit, yogurt, jams, fresh honey, pastries, croissants, rolls, meats, cheeses, salad, fish, hot selection including eggs, hashbrowns, beans, bacon, sausages. Juice, hot drinks, ice cold water tap and a gluten free area. We filled up on breakfast and didn't eat until teatime. Honestly cannot rate this hotel highly enough and we shall return.

Stayed one night only at the HI city center. Was part of an Indonesian sales meeting. Room was ok and clean! Breakfast was nice with lots of yummy German cold cuts. The fresh roles were really nice and fresh. The meeting room was very well equipped and the Banquet staff were really friendly and great hospitality. There was one guy outstanding, he was only a casual worker, sorry forgot his name 🫣 but he had a truly hospitality spirit!! Would definitely stay here again for meeting appointments

This was our 4th stay at this hotel and 2 years since our last. Thankfully little had changed and the hotel continues to offer great value for money. Unfortunately this was a flying visit of just one night so we didn’t have enough time to fully experience this excellent hotel. Modern spacious rooms, excellent bar area and of course the outstanding location for either walking into the city centre or using the excellent s- bahn network accessible via a 2 minute stroll through the under cover shopping arcade.
